I Found My Favorite in Sol de Janeiro’s New Intense Trio

Sol de Janeiro’s New Intense Perfume Trio

Sol de Janeiro has always made fragrance mists feel easy. You spray them generously, layer them with body care, throw them in your routine, and enjoy the scent without treating fragrance too seriously.

But there has always been one question with body mists: what if you want that same easy experience with more staying power? That is basically the story behind the new Sol de Janeiro Intense Perfume Mists.

According to the brand, customers had been asking for their favorite Cheirosa fragrances to last longer. Sol de Janeiro responded with a higher-concentration format designed to offer a richer scent experience while keeping the mist format people already love. The brand says the Intense Mists can last up to 10 hours, based on testing by a trained sensory panel.

Another detail connects the collection together: a solar ambery accord inspired by Rio de Janeiro's golden hour. Instead of simply making the original fragrances louder, the idea seems to be giving them more depth, warmth, and that sun-on-skin feeling associated with the brand.

And among Cheirosa 74, 59, and 62, there is one profile I find especially interesting.

Cheirosa 74 Intense is the completely new fragrance of these three, and its story might be the most interesting. Sol de Janeiro says it was inspired by Arpoador Beach in Rio de Janeiro, where people gather at the end of the day to watch the sunset. That explains why the fragrance moves between bright tropical fruit and warmer amber notes.

It opens with bergamot and ripe pineapple, so expect something juicy, energetic, and noticeably fruity at first.

Then plum, orange flower, and aldehydes enter the picture. They should keep the pineapple from becoming too candy-like and give the fragrance a cleaner, slightly more polished floral side.

Once it dries down, solar ambery accord and vanilla beans take over.

I would expect 74 Intense to suit someone who loves fruity fragrances but still wants warmth underneath. Think tropical sunset rather than straight-up pineapple sweetness.

Cheirosa 59 Intense Perfume Mist Review

Cheirosa 59 Intense goes in a much softer, creamier direction. It begins with white orchid and macadamia, followed by a surprisingly layered middle of violet, jasmine sambac absolute, creamy sandalwood, toffee, and patchouli. That combination is what makes 59 stand out to me.

You have sweetness from the toffee, but sandalwood and patchouli should give it more body. Violet and jasmine bring in a floral side, so I would expect this to smell cozy and creamy rather than obviously sugary. The dry down adds solar ambery accord, vetiver, and whipped musk.

Out of the three, this is the one I would expect to feel the most enveloping. It sounds made for evenings, cooler days, or whenever you want fragrance that sits closer to the warm, woody-gourmand side.
And based purely on the composition, 59 Intense is the one I am most drawn to.

Cheirosa 62™ Intense Perfume Mist Review

If Cheirosa 62 is already your Sol de Janeiro signature, the Intense version feels like the natural next step. It keeps pistachio and almond at the opening, but then brings in heliotrope, jasmine petals, and roasted macadamia.

The roasted macadamia is especially interesting because it should add even more warmth and nuttiness to a fragrance profile already known for its gourmand feel. The base goes bigger with solar ambery accord, salted caramel, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla absolute.

So rather than expecting a completely different Cheirosa 62, think of this as its deeper, richer relative. The familiar pistachio-caramel DNA is still there, but the added woods, amber, and vanilla should give it more weight and presence.

The brand is also offering these three scents together in the Cheirosa Intense Perfume Mist Trio, so if choosing between 74, 59, and 62 feels impossible, you can try the complete trio instead.

Final Thoughts

What I like most about this launch is that Sol de Janeiro seems to have understood the assignment. People did not necessarily want the Cheirosa experience reinvented. They wanted more of it.

The higher concentration, deeper notes, and shared solar amber accord are meant to close some of the gap between a casual body mist and a more lasting fragrance experience. Sol de Janeiro describes the collection as bold, rich, and designed for longer wear rather than simply as stronger copies of its existing mists.

As for my pick, Cheirosa 59 Intense has my attention. The white orchid, sandalwood, toffee, violet, and whipped musk combination sounds creamy, warm, and a little more complex than the typical sweet mist.
But if you're a fruit lover, 74 could be the surprise favorite. And if you already consider 62 your comfort scent, its Intense version is probably the easiest choice.

Either way, this new Sol de Janeiro Intense Perfume Mist collection feels less like the brand changing what people already love and more like turning the volume up in exactly the place fans were asking for it.
